Adopt An Animal for your Classroom

Are you looking for a special way to get your students excited about nature? Did you know that your class can Adopt An Animal at the CNC? The Adopt An Animal program teaches students the importance of protecting wildlife and wild places.

An Animal Adoption can start out as a fundraising activity for your class that develops into so much more.

  • Students can research their animal and give presentations
  • Hold an art or poetry contest
  • Have the students create and perform songs or skits about their animal
  • Schedule a visit to the CNC to visit your animal in person
  • Schedule the CNC to visit your classroom for a program all about your animal (not all animals can travel offsite)

Adopt an Animal Online.Currently the Nature Center protects over 50 animals that have been injured or impaired in some way and are unable to survive in the wild. Each animal requires attention and care, food, housing and medication. Your contribution to this program will help us care for these animals year round.
