The film brings together 15 voices from environmental groups, government agencies and the private sector. It gives viewers the opportunity to learn about the wide variety of programs and initiatives that are keeping our river healthy and providing access and programs for our citizens.  Recommended age to view the film is 10 and up.

Trail Hike

Explore the trails of the Chattahoochee Nature Center with a docent led walk through the forest or wetland.  The walks are suitable for all ages and will include stops to explore the Chattahoochee Watershed and learn about the plants and animals.  Hands on biofacts will be available to enhance the experience.

Daisy Overnight

img338The perfect introduction to an overnight experience!  This overnight provides opportunities for your young scouts to spend time in the outdoors exploring the nature center while participating in CNC’s favorite evening activities.  Some of the exciting activities we have planned for the scouts include night hikes, animal encounters and roasting marshmallows by the campfire!  Scouts and adults will sleep in a climate-controlled, carpeted room.  Contact Mark Gialanella at: m.gialanella@chattnaturecenter.org by December 15th to enter the lottery.

Winter Night Hike and Campfire

img392Winter is one of the best times of year to explore nature at night.  The winter world of CNC is one that deserves exploration in the dark.  We will listen for the sounds of winter and gaze up at the stars, while enjoying the crisp air of the season.  Take a journey with our naturalists along the river boardwalk or venture into the forest on your hike.   A campfire will be waiting for you as we wrap up the evening. Raptor Photography Workshop

Join Atlanta-based nature photographer Eric Bowles for a workshop to help you to make better photographs of raptors and other birds.  You’ll have private access for a special encounter with captive owls and other raptors from the rehab center at CNC.  Handlers will work with us to help create great photos. We’ll have classroom time to talk about technique, equipment and tips. Ages 16+; $40 General Public/$30 CNC Members; Register by February 8th.

Mammal Merit Badge

Homeschool Science Monday

Journal 4Join us in the Nature Exchange monthly for themed programming designed with your homeschool learner in mind.  Our knowledgeable volunteers and staff, 127 acres, and resources are here to help you expand and enhance your curriculum.  This station-learning format is open to ages 5 -13.  Enjoy a mini-lesson followed by hands-on activities and take-home projects that connect month to month.  Different themes each month. Monthly, September to May.

Wetland Restoration Project

wetland2Come help us restore the wetlands!  We will be working to remove invasive Chinese privet and other non-natives in and around our wetlands in order to encourage native plant restoration.
