Find out What Camper Group you are in and what you will be learning!

At Camp Kingfisher campers are grouped according to their grade level. Daily programming is designed to specifically meet the needs, interest and developmental level of your child. Each age group is named for one of the four native owl species in Georgia represented at the Chattahoochee Nature Center. Campers in full- and half-day programs will not be grouped together.

Screech Owls (Campers entering K & 1st grades)

This program is an introduction to camp. Every plant, animal and camp experience is new and exciting. Our youngest campers must be 5 years old by September 1, 2010 to participate in camp.

Barn Owls (Campers entering 2nd & 3rd grades)

As campers become more familiar with the natural world, they are able to expand their scientific pursuits. This program includes more investigative activities such as pond and insect studies.

Barred Owls (Campers entering 4th & 5th grades)

These campers have moved beyond the introductory phase of scientific study. With the increased ability to work as a team, campers give input to their daily schedule and deepen their environmental focus.

Great Horned Owls (Campers entering 6th & 7th grades)

This two-week program includes more in-depth scientific study and a focus on responsibility to the planet. There are additional opportunities to canoe on the Chattahoochee River and optional participation in an overnight experience at camp.

Travel Program (Campers entering 8th & 9th Grade)

Adventure abounds as campers and staff discover the natural wonders in metro Atlanta and beyond. Participants will bring their experience back to camp in the form of a CNC service project.
