Forest Fairy House Trail

Sponsored by Northside Hospital

Back by popular demand, our fairies have been busy building all new fairy houses for our Homestead Trail and Kingfisher Pond Trail this spring. More than a dozen whimsical works line our trails – slow down as you search for the fairy houses made from tiny natural objects. You can even earn Nature Exchange points as you find them along the way, just pick up a scavenger hunt. Get imaginative with us this spring and perhaps create your own Fairy House in our Free Play Area while you are here!

Bird Walk with Atlanta Audubon Society

Join CNC and the Atlanta Audubon Society for a Spring birding field trip. Be on the lookout for Spring migrants and permanent resident birds of the river and forest. Ages 12+.

Woodland Restoration Project

Come help us restore the woodlands. We will be working to remove invasive English ivy and privet in and around our woodlands in order to encourage native plant restoration.  Please contact us to reserve a spot for your family or group.  Ages 5 – Adult; Register by March 27th by emailing our Volunteer Coordinator.

Back to Your Roots Farm Fair

Our Featured Event for Family Fun in April allows all ages to get back to your roots with CNC this spring as we celebrate Earth Day and play outside.  Farm Animals from Farmer Sue’s The Art Barn will be there to celebrate too!

    A fun new nature film each day. Films appropriate for all ages and lasts approximately 1 hour.

Homeschool Science Monday

Journal 4Join us in the Nature Exchange monthly for themed programming designed with your homeschool learner in mind.  Our knowledgeable volunteers and staff, 127 acres, and resources are here to help you expand and enhance your curriculum.  This station-learning format is open to ages 5 -13.  Enjoy a mini-lesson followed by hands-on activities and take-home projects that connect month to month.  Different themes each month. Monthly, September to May.

December 12: We Are All Connected (food webs)
January 9: Star Light Star Bright (astronomy)
February 13: Up And Down, And All Around The Earth (water cycle)

Pee-Wee Naturalists Spring Series

Bring your little nature lovers to a class where they will be able to explore the sights and sounds of the forest’s Spring awakening. River Canoe Trips on the Chattahoochee

The Chattahoochee River is calling! Take an urban adventure and experience wildlife through a 2 ½ hour

paddle down the ‘Hooch. Our experienced and knowledgeable river guides lead the way on the river to see the sights and sounds of Spring time. Discover the plants and animals that call this area home and explore the river’s backwaters as you re-imagine the river through a canoeing experience. The CNC provides all equipment for participants. Sprouting Gardeners

Join a CNC naturalist and explore CNC’s Unity Garden in a new way. We will be kicking off our themed garden planting this month with Peter Rabbit. Participants will plant in our Unity Garden Raised Beds and create artwork to display. Participants will each take home a seedling to plant in their own gardens at home. Ages 5 – 10; $25 General Public/$10 CNC Members (price per child, one adult helper required and admitted free); Register by April 27.

Harvest on the ‘Hooch in the Unity Garden

Join us at the Chattahoochee Nature Center in the Unity Garden for this unique Farm to Table Garden Fest complete with tastings prepared by our favorite local restaurants and caterers.  Harvest on the ‘Hooch will allow you to enjoy samplings of local craft beers and wine, bluegrass music, games, alpacas and other surprise farm guests!  Supporting the Unity Garden through this unique event helps those in need by providing fresh produce to the Food Pantry at North Fulton Community Charity. Halloween Hikes

A Family Event you won’t want to miss! If you are searching for a unique Halloween adventure, we have the program for you. Take your child on a well-lit hike through the forest to meet woodland creatures and hear about their lives. It’s the perfect non-scary alternative to traditional Halloween events and a VERY important fundraiser for CNC!

Cancellation and Refund Policy
If a class is cancelled for any reason you will receive a full refund. If you wish to cancel your reservation, please contact our office at least six business days prior to your scheduled program. $10 of your registration fee will be retained by CNC. You will receive confirmation when we receive your cancellation. If you do not receive confirmation within one business day, we have not received your cancellation. No refunds will be given for cancellations made fewer than 6 business days prior to your scheduled program. Refunds will be paid by check, please allow 4 – 6 weeks.
