Halloween Hikes

Friday and Saturday, October 21st, 22nd, 28th and 29th – 7:00 pm

A Family Event you won’t want to miss! If you are searching for a unique Halloween adventure, we have the program for you. Take your child on a well-lit hike through the forest to meet woodland creatures and hear about their lives. It’s the perfect non-scary alternative to traditional Halloween events and a VERY important fundraiser for CNC!

  • World Music
  • Guided Night Hike lasting approximately 45 minutes, stopping to meet costumed characters
  • Festival Fun
  • Camp Fire
  • Concessions Available for Purchase

CNC Members may purchase tickets in advance beginning on October 1st at the Visitor Services Desk in the Discovery Center. CNC is open Monday – Saturday from 10 am—5 pm and Sunday from Noon – 5 pm

Ticket Sales begin at 6:30 pm each night and end at 8:30 pm for the General Public (advance tickets are not available)

Friday and Saturday, October 21 and 22 ($9 per person, children 2 and under free)

Artists in the Wild

Artists in the Wild (3)Roswell Fine Arts Alliance is partnering with the CNC to present Artists in the Wild, plein air artists spread out over the CNC’s most picturesque locations. Mingle amongst the artists while they paint scenes under the fresh air. Visitors are welcomed to observe their work, ask questions and enjoy the final product.

Homeschool Science Monday

Journal 4Join us in the Nature Exchange monthly for themed programming designed with your homeschool learner in mind.  Our knowledgeable volunteers and staff, 127 acres, and resources are here to help you expand and enhance your curriculum.  This station-learning format is open to ages 5 -13.  Enjoy a mini-lesson followed by hands-on activities and take-home projects that connect month to month.  Different themes each month. Monthly, September to May.

December 12: We Are All Connected (food webs)
January 9: Star Light Star Bright (astronomy)
February 13: Up And Down, And All Around The Earth (water cycle)
March 13: Your Forecast Is…Weather!
April 10: Wonderful Wetlands
May 8: Raptors, Reptiles and Rehab!

Please remember to bring a each month a nature journal or notebook, pencil, reusable water bottle, dress for the weather and a mind that’s ready to explore and learn!

Pee-Wee Naturalist Fall Series

peeweenaturalist2One of the most beautiful seasons at the CNC is autumn. Come change and grow with your little ones as we understand how nature is preparing for the colder weather. This is a perfect way to expand your knowledge about Mother Earth and all of the life in between as we hike outdoors, make crafts, create new friends and have an up-close experience with one of our rehabilitated animals. Ages 3 – 4; $60 General Public/$45 CNC Members (price per child, adult helper required and admitted free); Register by September 8

Come to the CNC’s inflatable planetarium and have a front row view of the autumn constellations right before your eyes. Learn how to easily locate the North Star, the Big Dipper, Orion’s Best and much more. Please note, STARLAB is in complete darkness at times. Two, 25-minute sessions; Ages 6+

Meet over Forty Fine Arts Artisans,  Artisans of the Farm and Kitchen and Instrumental Artisans – all while supporting local crafts-persons and Fair Trade.  Our market contains local vendors selling their hand-made, eco-friendly goods for your holiday gift giving.  These skilled entrepreneurs make unique items that you won’t find in retail stores.  Buy local this Holiday Season and help our economy! Avoid crowded malls.

Meet talented entrepreneurs and local vendors selling holiday gifts galore!  Last year we had a wide variety of vendors and many of them will be returning again this year. Visit our Nature Store for unique eco-friendly gifts, fun nature toys and games, nature related books perfect for you and your favorite nature lovers.  You can also purchase gift memberships to CNC for your friends and family!  Nature Exchange Traders can find a fun gift for parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters!

PLEASE CARPOOL! Free parking, but limited spaces, please help us and the earth by carpooling!  Some vendors only take cash or check.

Cancellation and Refund Policy
If a class is cancelled for any reason you will receive a full refund. If you wish to cancel your reservation, please contact our office at least six business days prior to your scheduled program. $10 of your registration fee will be retained by CNC. You will receive confirmation when we receive your cancellation. If you do not receive confirmation within one business day, we have not received your cancellation. No refunds will be given for cancellations made fewer than 6 business days prior to your scheduled program. Refunds will be paid by check, please allow 4 – 6 weeks.
