Story Time by the River

Wetland Restoration Project

Come help us restore the wetlands. We will be working to remove Chinese privet and other non-natives in and around our wetlands in order to encourage native plant restoration. Please contact CNC to reserve a spot for your family or group.  Ages 5 – Adult; Register by March 6th by emailing the Volunteer Coordinator.

Homeschool Science Monday

Journal 4Join us in the Nature Exchange monthly for themed programming designed with your homeschool learner in mind.  Our knowledgeable volunteers and staff, 127 acres, and resources are here to help you expand and enhance your curriculum.  This station-learning format is open to ages 5 -13.  Enjoy a mini-lesson followed by hands-on activities and take-home projects that connect month to month.  Different themes each month. Monthly, September to May.

December 12: We Are All Connected (food webs)
January 9: Star Light Star Bright (astronomy)
February 13: Up And Down, And All Around The Earth (water cycle)
March 13: Your Forecast Is…Weather!
April 10: Wonderful Wetlands
May 8: Raptors, Reptiles and Rehab!

Please remember to bring a each month a nature journal or notebook, pencil, reusable water bottle, dress for the weather and a mind that’s ready to explore and learn!

Pee-Wee Naturalists Spring Series

Bring your little nature lovers to a class where they will be able to explore the sights and sounds of the forest’s Spring awakening. We will leave no stone unturned as we scout the woods and come up with questions to ask Mother Nature. Ages 3 – 4; $60 General Public/$45 CNC Members (price per child, adult helper required and admitted free); Register by March 9.

Forest Fairy House Trail

Back by popular demand, our fairies have been busy building all new fairy houses for our Homestead Trail and Kingfisher Pond Trail this spring. More than a dozen whimsical works line our trails – slow down as you search for the fairy houses made from tiny natural objects. You can even earn Nature Exchange points as you find them along the way, just pick up a scavenger hunt. Get imaginative with us this spring and perhaps create your own Fairy House in our Free Play Area while you are here!

18th Annual Flying Colors Butterfly Festival

The Flying Colors Butterfly Festival delights everyone all weekend at the Chattahoochee Nature Center when the air fills with the beating wings of hundreds of beautiful butterflies! Join us for this very important fundraising event for the Chattahoochee Nature Center!

Butterfly Encounter

Open Daily until 4:30 pm

The year’s most popular exhibit is back for this summer! This special outdoor exhibit is open daily until 4:30 pm from June 5 – July 31! Get up close and personal with hundreds of native butterflies surrounded by colorful nectar plants. Photo opportunities abound, be sure to bring your camera! Special visiting opportunities include CNC Members Only hours, Breakfast with Butterflies, and special evening hours at Sunset Sips!

Cancellation and Refund Policy
If a class is cancelled for any reason you will receive a full refund. If you wish to cancel your reservation, please contact our office at least six business days prior to your scheduled program. $10 of your registration fee will be retained by CNC. You will receive confirmation when we receive your cancellation. If you do not receive confirmation within one business day, we have not received your cancellation. No refunds will be given for cancellations made fewer than 6 business days prior to your scheduled program. Refunds will be paid by check, please allow 4 – 6 weeks.
