Take a trip through five of Georgia wetlands in this unique garden exhibit.
More than 200 species of native plants are incorporated into this garden, making
it an excellent representation of the wetlands in their native regions. As you
walk, you will pass through: a Mountain Bog, the Piedmont Floodplain, the Okefenokee
Swamp, the Pitcher Plant Bog, and a Longleaf Pine and Wiregrass Community each
with rare and exciting native plants.
The Georgia's Living wetlands exhibit is made possible through a wetland mitigation
project with Isakson-Barnhart, a local developer. As part of a development Isakson-Barnhart
needed to create a new wetland. By funding this project, they are helping to
preserve endangered habitats, and educating everyone on the importance of protecting
our wetlands.
