With cooler weather comes cool events throughout the autumn season. What would fall be without brilliant colors, crisp air, food festivals and Halloween fun? Celebrate the changing colors of the natural world with CNC during this exciting time of year. Beyond just enjoying nature, CNC has plenty of fun coming up. Read on for some of the highlights of the season, or check out our calendar.
Start the fall season off by getting your garden in order. Fall seeds equal spring blooms, after all. The Fall Native Plant sale is September 27 and 28 (with a special members-only preview sale September 26). Learn how to prep your garden for the winter while getting ready for those spring blossoms. Experts will be on hand to answer all of your gardening questions.
Admission is free to the horticulture area.
Take a tour of the Unity Garden during CNC’s annual garden party – the Harvest on the Hooch taste fest, October 13, 1–5 PM. This fun event combines great food from top local restaurants and plenty of adult drinks from award-winning local breweries. There’s also fun garden games and live animals – like alpacas. You might even milk a goat!
There is even a VIP treat – enjoy a cooking demo with Table & Main and Coalition Chef Woody Back before the main event. He will whip up something special while you watch, answering any questions you might have. This event is Noon-1 PM, and ticket holders also get access to the main event.
Tickets for this all-you-can-eat event are available now, with prices going up at the door.
Test out your Halloween costume early Oct 25 and 26 with the 34th annual Halloween Hikes. This is the perfect non–scary alternative to your traditional Halloween events and takes families on a night hike through the woods where costumed woodland critters speak their mind about their lives. This fun and very important CNC fundraiser also includes plenty of family fun, games, music, and snacks throughout the night, 7-10 PM. And this year it’s for one weekend only! Don’t miss it.
CNC members may purchase tickets beginning October 1 in person at our Discovery Center. Non-members will be able to purchase tickets day-of at the door.
The weather is changing and so are the leaves. Weekends throughout October and November will have canoe trips on the Chattahoochee River. Take in the vibrant colors of the trees before they fade into winter. Paddle quietly along the Chattahoochee River, listening to the sounds of the river and its wildlife. These are you last chances of 2019 to get on the river with CNC. Book your trip today.
