Chattahoochee Nature Center is actively monitoring COVID-19. Below are the steps we are taking to comply with federal, state, and local guidelines in order to protect visitors, staff, and our community. Here is what you can expect to see at CNC:
>> Advanced ticketing/reservations: CNC is currently implementing timed and limited admissions. While we may be able to accommodate walk-ups based on daily visitation, the only way to secure a spot for your visit is to pre- purchase admission online. We are also asking members to make advanced reservations for their visit (memberships will be verified upon arrival). Any purchases made at CNC will be via credit card only.
>> Social Distancing & Personal Protection: CNC staff are required to wear a mask. Visitors are required to wear a mask at CNC while indoors (including Discovery Center and all restrooms), and encouraged to wear a mask within 6′ of other visitors. Our 127 acres allow for social distancing. Visitors will encounter frequent signage with information on social distancing, hand washing, and safe visiting guidelines.
>> Enhanced Cleaning: We have greatly enhanced our cleaning practices and will be cleaning high-touch surfaces and spaces throughout the day.
>> Modified Experiences: Our outdoor experiences are open. While Camp Kingfisher is in operation, CNC property will be split to distance campers from the general public, therefore some spaces and trails may be unavailable. Year-round you can enjoy our Trails, Gardens, and Wildlife Walk. Screaming Eagle Aerial Adventures is operating seasonally. Due to construction, the River Boardwalk Trail is currently closed. The lower level of the Discovery Center, including the Watershed Gallery and Nature Exchange, is open daily.
- As an indoor space, masks are required in the Watershed Gallery
- The lower level may be closed Monday – Saturday from 12:30-1PM for sanitizing.
>> Modified Retail: Our retail area will be greatly modified, but will be open for purchases, including snacks and drinks. Any purchases made at CNC will be via credit card only.
>> Programs, Workshops, and Classes: Any in person programs, workshops, and classes are modified, including limited class size, and are held in spaces where social distancing is possible throughout the experience. We continue to prioritize our outdoor spaces for programming. However, some portions of some programs/workshops/classes will be held indoors, if appropriate, based on the activity or weather.
