Operational Changes due to Covid-19

Chattahoochee Nature Center is actively monitoring COVID-19. Below are the steps we are taking to comply with federal, state, and local guidelines in order to protect visitors, staff, and our community. Here is what you can expect to see at CNC upon our reopening:

>> Mandatory advanced ticketing/reservations: All visitors must pre- purchase admission online. Members must make advanced reservations for their visit (memberships will be verified upon arrival). Any purchases that must be made at CNC will be via credit card only – sorry, no cash will be accepted.

>> Social Distancing & Personal Protection: CNC staff are required to wear a mask. Starting July 15, visitors are required to wear a mask at CNC while indoors (including Discovery Center and all restrooms). Our 127 acres allow for social distancing of 6’ between individuals. Visitors will encounter frequent signage with information on social distancing and hand washing, and safe visiting guidelines.

>> Enhanced Cleaning: We have greatly enhanced our cleaning practices and will be cleaning high-touch surfaces and spaces throughout the day.

>> Modified Experiences: Our outdoor experiences will be open and include our Trails, Gardens, and Wildlife Walk, as well as Screaming Eagle Ziplines. The River Boardwalk Trail is currently closed. The lower level of the Discovery Center, including the Watershed Gallery and Nature Exchange, are open on Saturday and Sunday as well as on Holidays (excluding Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, and New Year’s Day) and School Breaks. Please note:

  1. To maintain limited capacity in the Watershed Gallery, the date and time on your admission ticket or member reservation will double as your designated time to visit the lower level.
  2. As an indoor space, masks are required in the Watershed Gallery
  3. The lower level will be closed Monday – Saturday from 12:30-1PM for sanitizing.

>> Modified Retail: Our retail area will be greatly modified, but will be open for purchasing, including snacks and drinks. Any purchases that made at CNC will be via credit card only – sorry, no cash will be accepted.

>> Programs: CNC will hold very limited programming as to not encourage groups to gather, but we do hope to return to our regular programming opportunities in the near future.
