Spread your Wings this Summer at CNC

Get Outside and Connect with Nature

This summer, CNC is grateful to be able to offer our 127 acres as space where you can spread your wings – get outdoors, enjoy time with family and friends, and connect with nature. Through fun festivals, robust programs, exciting exhibits, and beautiful trails and gardens, you will find there is so much to do and explore at CNC this season! Extended hours are back this summer! Opening at 9AM on Monday (CNC Members Only), Friday, and Saturday and staying open until 7PM every day. More time to get your nature on.

Creating Memories

June kicks off with the 22nd Annual Butterfly Festival celebrating all pollinators and the grand opening of CNC’s most popular seasonal exhibit, the Butterfly Encounter.

You will enjoy learning about the power of pollinators and meet native butterflies up close and personal, all while making memories with friends and family – a true highlight of the summer season.

Pee Wee Naturalists with Larry (2019)

CNC is also grateful for the wonderful staff who share the love of nature with our visitors and members. Pee Wee Naturalist is a quarterly program for the youngest explorers.

CNC Naturalist Larry Stevens has created memories and sparked a love for nature with those lucky explorers that have experienced Pee Wee Naturalists.

A parent shared recently: “[My child] enjoyed today’s class so much! This afternoon he pretended that he was “Mr. Larry” and taught his big brother all he had learned about snakes. So sweet!” Our next Pee Wee Naturalist series begins the first week of June and registration is currently open. Spaces are limited and a great way for you and your budding naturalist to connect with nature.

Enjoying music after hours

Get your heart pumping with exciting adventures like ziplining with Screaming Eagle Aerial Adventures, or canoe with CNC on one of our evening River Canoe Trips.

Get your foot tapping with amazing music at CNC’s TWO upcoming outdoor concert series: Sunset Sips and Sundays on the River. Both are a great way to experience CNC after hours.

Last but not least, CNC is grateful to the members and visitors who have supported the center through tough times over the last year. Many favorite CNC summer festivals and events were canceled last year due to COVID.

We are so excited to be able to bring those back our popular happenings and experiences this summer, so come on our, spread your wings, and get your nature on at Chattahoochee Nature Center! Plan your visit today!

Construction Update: You will see construction around CNC, as well as local construction throughout the summer.

We are improving! We are renovating our River Boardwalk Trail and installing a pedestrian bridge across Willeo Road through 2021 and into 2022.

Local construction will also be occurring at the intersection of Willeo Road/Lower Roswell Road/Timber Ridge Road to replace the bridge. CNC is not involved, but it will affect access to CNC. Willeo Road will be closed to thru traffic. CNC is open during this time and visitors will be able to access CNC from the east (near Azalea Drive).
