Water Drop Dash 2021 Update

Experience a trail run at CNC

The Water Drop Dash 5K promotes water conservation each year during “Fix A Leak Week” and raises funds for the Chattahoochee Nature Center. Thanks to your support, the race has become the number one EPA water conservation event in the nation!

Last March, when we were forced to make the 2020 Water Drop Dash 5K a virtual race, we never imagined Water Drop Dash 2021 would not take place in its original format. Unfortunately, as with everything COVID, we will not be able to execute the road race in our typical fashion and on our usual course.

The GOOD NEWS is we have a fun and unique option available in substitution for the 5K road race…a 5K trail run on CNC’s campus!

In partnership with Racing Solutions, CNC has mapped out a 5K course utilizing CNC’s two miles of trails over our 127 acre campus. Same race day, same great race organization, same great t-shirts, and all COVID safety protocols in place (see below).

The one thing that’s different is the course. This will NOT be a fast and flat road run. This is a TRAIL RUN which will include a couple of challenging hills. For those of you not familiar with trail running, this is an easy to moderate course that comes complete with the usual hazards of trail running…tree roots and rocks.

Thank you again for your participation in the Water Drop Dash 5K and supporting the Chattahoochee Nature Center and spreading the word about the importance of water conservation. Trail run space is limited so make sure you register today!

If a 5K trail run sounds pretty awesome and you are ready to register, click here! We can’t wait to open the CNC campus for this unique opportunity.

KNOW BEFORE YOU REGISTER OR RUN

Route will be a two-loop trail run of approximately 5K total.  Route profile is predominately on woodland trails, with a portion of the route on the sidewalk through the CNC exhibits. Unlike the route on the streets, there will be hills.

The race will have multiple start waves to allow for minimal runners on the trail at one time to reduce overcrowding on the narrow portions of the trail and effectively “social distance” the event in the beautiful outdoors.

Free, onsite parking at CNC.

Face masks required before and after running.

Participation rules will require participants to pass general health screening on race day, and not attend the event if they are feeling sick, or if they have had recently had exposure to COVID-19.
