DESCRIPTION:Saturdays and Sundays in October\, 4:30 pm\nTake a leisurely evening 2.5-hour paddle with our experienced canoe guides while learning all about the environment of the Chattahoochee River. This trip is a great first-time experience or a fun way to reconnect with the river you already treasure. On the trip you will look for wildlife and learn about the wetland ecosystem that is unique to metro Atlanta. All equipment is provided.  \nAges 6+. SUMMARY:The Nature Club Dine and Discover: CNC Naturalist\, Jenna Ellett
DESCRIPTION:Join us as we learn all about bats with certified interpretive guide and bat enthusiast\, Jenna Ellett.  This presentation will give attendees an overview of the importance of Georgia native bat species. We will also learn about a handful of non-native species from across the world and discuss how they connect to our day-to-day lives.  At the end of the presentation\, attendees will be invited to listen for bat echolocation calls on the Chattahoochee Nature Center grounds using a Wildlife Acoustics Echo Meter Touch 2.  \nJoin The Nature Club monthly potluck and mingle with folks with similar interests. Then join our speaker at 7:30. The Nature Club meets the 4th Thursday of each month January to October. If you have topics of interest or speaker suggestions\, please let us know! Ages 16 – Adult\, $10 general public/$5 CNC members. Registration is recommended\, but not required. \n\n    \n

DESCRIPTION:Halloween Hikes at CNC are the perfect non–scary alternative to your traditional Halloween events. Go on a trail hike through the woods to meet costumed nature characters\, learning all about their wild lives. An Atlanta tradition for 34 years\, these hikes are a very important fundraiser for CNC. Cash only concessions available on the grounds including S’mores kits that support Camp Kingfisher scholarship program. There is no ATM on site\, but concessions are also available at the nature store. DESCRIPTION:Registration opens November 1\, 10 am \nSession 1: December 23 and 24 (camp will close at 2 pm on December 24)\nSession 2: January 30 and 31 (camp will close at 2 pm on December 31)\nSession 3: January 2 and 3  \nDo your kids miss Camp Kingfisher as much as Camp K misses them? Join CNC for Winter Break Camp. All the fun of summer minus the summer heat. Campers will enjoy live animal encounters\, outdoor games\, hikes\, hot chocolate\, and StarLab\, CNC’s inflatable planetarium. Available for current kindergarten through 7th graders.  Camp runs from 9 am to 4 pm\, with free extended care from 8 am to 9 am and 4 to 6 pm (except for December 24 and 31).
