Chemical Monitoring Water Quality Workshop
Join CNC and Georgia Adopt-A-Stream for a Chemical Monitoring certification workshop. Using a chemical testing kit to assess stream health, the Chemical Monitoring workshop is designed to teach our community about basic stream water chemistry and encourage them to help monitor their local streams. Learn to assess stream quality by conducting chemical tests using hand-held field equipment and become a certified Adopt-A-Stream volunteer.
Testing includes the monitoring of dissolved oxygen, conductivity, pH, and temperature. Workshop includes classroom learning and field study. Be sure to wear shoes you don’t mind getting wet! Georgia Adopt-A-Stream is the state’s volunteer water quality monitoring program. Volunteers select a site along a local stream, wetland, lake, or estuary to adopt. They regularly monitor their site and submit monitoring data to our online database.
Ages 16+; FREE for participants.
