Position Title: Visitor Services Associate
Department: Learning and Engagement Department/Discovery Center
Classification: Part-time; non-exempt
Reporting to: Member and Visitor Engagement Manager


Job Announcement

Visitor Services Associates (VSA) are the welcoming faces of the Chattahoochee Nature Center. Those in this position assist Nature Center guests and members, conduct sales and reservations, and handle daily administrative tasks. This is a non-exempt, part-time hourly position. Weekend availability is preferred; requires very few evenings.


General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist CNC visitors with sales of admission, memberships, retail items and programs
  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff and members through:
    • Creating program reservations
    • Promoting CNC membership and assist members
  • Address visitor concerns appropriately and with patience
  • Operate point-of-sale register
  • Securely handle assigned monies
  • Maintain store organization and inventory
  • Conduct daily procedures
  • Process retail and customer service administrative tasks
  • Direct visitors to watershed specific partners and organizations
  • Maintain partner materials in the lobby and resource gallery
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Other duties as assigned



  • Experience in retail sales and with point-of-sale software
  • Experience in customer service
  • Experience working for nature centers and/or other cultural recreational venues preferred
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time
  • Clear and friendly communication skills
  • MS Office computer skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Siriusware software preferred but not required
