Homeschool Naturalists

Tuesdays: March 14,  April 11, May 9 | 1:30-3PM

This 3-class series welcomes elementary-age students to learn with us all around CNC’s 127 acres. The series includes live animal encounters, and rich lessons and activities led by a CNC Naturalist and encourages parent participation too! Your child will leave the program with a deeper understanding of the natural world. Limited spaces available.

Ages 5-9; $70 general public/$50 CNC Members (price for 3-part series is per child, adult helper required and admitted free). Advanced registration required by Thursday, March 9.

The Chattahoochee Nature Center has provided environmental education programs to Metro Atlanta schools for the past 40 years. Our programs are designed to engage students’ natural curiosity and provide experiential learning opportunities in nature. 

Whether you are studying water quality, fungi, mammals, or geology, our programs will add a vivid new dimension to your lesson plans.

Homeschool Science Day

Let Chattahoochee Nature Center be your outdoor classroom!

Homeschoolers can enjoy our Homeschool Naturalist program, an quarterly educational series, and many families and co-ops also enjoy booking a naturalist-led program, or making reservations for their own visit, enjoying CNC on their own time. No matter what your learning needs are, CNC is here to help you connect to nature and share the love of learning outdoors.

NEW! Homeschool Naturalists

This new series is offered quarterly to homeschoolers ages 5+. Program meets 2nd Tuesdays 1:30-3pm. Join CNC Naturalists for themed programs, live animals, and science activities. $70 per student non-member; $50 CNC member.

group programs

Get your homeschool group outside and learning. All of our Georgia GSE based science and nature programs can be adapted for your homeschool group. On-site programs include a guided hike lead by a CNC staff naturalist, hands-on learning activities, an up-close animal encounter and a visit to our Discovery Center. 

Educational Materials Discount

Continue the nature lessons at home. Visit our Nature Store for biology- and ecology-based reading materials, science kits and other teaching tools. Homeschooling parents/adults receive a 10% educator discount during Homeschool Science days.
