high school leadership in training (LIT)
Leadership & Naturalist Training Program
Camp Kingfisher’s LIT program provides a unique opportunity for young people entering grades 10, 11, and 12. This experience is an excellent addition to college and job applications.
have a question about the lit program?
>> Are you in high school and enjoy working with elementary-aged children or want a career with kids?
>> Do you enjoy being outdoors?
>> Do you enjoy canoeing or have a desire to learn?
>> Do you think you many want to be a Camp Counselor one day?
If so, the LIT program may be a good fit for you this summer!
LITs will be in charge of manning our two canoe ponds, working and teaching campers how to canoe. In the afternoon LITs will have a breakout session where they will learn techniques on managing children in an outdoor setting. For the last three periods the LITs become the assistants to camp counselors, helping them manage and have fun with the campers.
A $250 fee per session covers professional leadership and naturalist training, regular supervision, evaluations, a Camp Kingfisher T-shirt and Personal Flotation Device.
