Event Information
Chattahoochee Nature Center and Roswell Arts Fund come together for The Festival of the Painted Rock, a cherished arts celebration from the late ’80s and early ’90s. The event is making its return on August 30, 2025, at the Chattahoochee Nature Center. Groove to live music, discover captivating visual arts, immerse yourself in interactive experiences and savor delicious food as you wander through a landscape bursting with nature made creativity.
The festival’s name draws inspiration from the Chattahoochee River, which in the Creek language means ‘rocks-marked’ or ‘painted’, possibly referring to the distinctive granite formations along its banks. According to legend, these rocks may have been likened to the turtles that dot the riverbanks, blending natural beauty with cultural significance in a way that continues to inspire the festival.
With something for everyone to enjoy, whether you stay for an hour or the whole day, prepare to connect with our community and find inspiration in every corner. More than just an event, it’s the heartbeat of art and nature – don’t miss out!
