The Nature Club Dine and Discover: Amphibians

Amphibian Conservation in the Southeast with Mark Mandica

Join Mark Mandica, Executive Director and Co-Founder of the Amphibian Foundation for an update on the most vulnerable species the organization works hard to protect. In 2016, the Amphibian Foundation was formed to address the catastrophic declines of several enigmatic amphibian species in the Southeastern US, such as the Frosted Flatwoods Salamander, Gopher Frog, Striped Newt, and other species most people have never heard of. Since that time, AF has been focused on raising awareness and resources for the conservation of these species, some of which are considered at imminent risk of extinction. This talk will be an exploration of the current status of these slimy underdogs and will even include ways to get involved in their conservation.

Attend in person at 7PM in the CNC Plaza Conference Room and bring a dish to share for the potluck. Make new friends and connections at Nature Club while learning all at the same time. Mark’s presentation will begin at 7:30PM.
