The Nature Club Dine and Discover: Bites, Stings, and Itches

Join naturalist Greg Greer for a program about plants and animals that could potentially be harmful to people.  Depending on the species, whether they are a tiny insect, an ectoparasite, or a venomous snake; there are certainly things a person should consider before their outdoor adventures.  In addition, there are several plants that may cause contact dermatitis, some delayed, resulting in an annoying itch and some that burn immediately due to the stinging bristles on leaves and stems.  This program is not meant to scare outdoor enthusiasts but rather the program is an educational tool to help everyone enjoy the outside world.

Greg has had a lifelong passion for natural history.  From working with peregrine falcons and migrating raptors, to work at Zoo Atlanta, then to Chattahoochee Nature Center where he worked for 10 years ending up as the executive director.  For 15 years, he was also an expedition leader for International Expeditions.  He guided over 100 international educational wildlife trips on all 7 continents.

Attend in person at 7PM in the CNC Plaza Conference Room and bring a dish to share for the potluck.  Make new friends and connections at Nature Club while learning all at the same time. The presentation will begin at 7:30PM.

Ages 16+. $10 general public / $5 CNC Members. Advanced Registration Required. Register by Wednesday, September 24.
