Join Kim Sonderman of the Southeast Regional Sea Turtle Network to learn all about the sea turtle species that can be found in Georgia, sea turtle biology, nesting behaviors, challenges and threats to the sea turtle population, as well as a little bit about sea turtle genetics. Kim holds a Master of Science in Wildlife Biology from the University of Georgia and is pursuing a Master’s in Public Administration at UNC-Chapel Hill. With experience in veterinary medicine, sea turtle rehabilitation, and a passion for marine conservation, she co-founded the Southeast Regional Sea Turtle Network (SERSTN) in 2011. As Executive Director, Kim has played a pivotal role in fostering collaboration among sea turtle researchers, conservationists, and professionals.
Attend in person at 7PM in the CNC Plaza Conference Room and bring a dish to share for the potluck. Make new friends and connections at Nature Club while learning all at the same time. The presentation will begin at 7:30PM.
