The Nature Club Dine and Discover: Wildlife Garden

Creating a Wildlife Sanctuary Garden with Jerry Hightower

Join nationally recognized naturalist and environmental educator Jerry Hightower for a fun, informative, and exciting program that will assist you in creating, improving, and enjoying wildlife sanctuary gardens at homes and schools. A wildlife sanctuary garden does not require much space or money. However, these “magic gardens” add a great deal of joy to our lives while benefiting wildlife.  Wildlife sanctuary gardens add wonder, beauty, and “magic” to the lives of persons of all ages.  Gardening for wildlife is good for mental and physical health…and it’s a great deal of fun.

From birdseed to butterflies and chipmunks to chickadees, Jerry will demonstrate how to develop a beautiful, exciting landscape that will increase your enjoyment of the world just out of your backdoor.  Feeders, nesting boxes, and a dozen other components to consider for adding food and shelter will be discussed as part of the planning and evaluation process for creating your one-of-a-kind garden.

Attend in person at 7PM in the CNC Plaza Conference Room and bring a dish to share for the potluck.  Make new friends and connections at Nature Club while learning all at the same time. Jerry’s presentation will begin at 7:30PM.
