A Community United

A Note from Los Niños Primero Executive Director, Maritza Morelli

Juan Unzueta, a teaching actor from the Alliance Theatre presents Do You Love the Dark? By Maya Lawrence, this year’s pick from the Mayor’s Summer Reading Club.

As we look back on this first month of summer, we are overwhelmed with gratitude for our community partners who made June so special for everyone at Los Niños Primero.

This past weekend, Los Niños Primero families spent the afternoon surrounded by the natural splendor of the Chattahoochee Nature Center. With help of our friends at the Alliance Theatre, we celebrated the Mayor’s Summer Reading Club, and this year’s book, Do You Love the Dark? By Maya Lawrence. The story was read aloud by the wonderful teaching artist, Juan Unzueta. The afternoon was a vivid medley of nature, reading, and even a bit of magic.

For the past four weeks, our Summer Learners have been Dreaming Big and exploring new territory. The summer program and Saturday School sessions are made possible thanks to community partners such as Sandy Springs Society, a charitable organization of women that has generously supported Los Niños Primero for 8 years. We are honored to advance their goal of improving the quality of life for the citizens of Sandy Springs.

¡Gracias a todos! Your generosity helps us to continue our vital community programs!

Sincerely,

Maritza Morelli
Executive Director
